COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (April 24, 2024) — Niabi Zoo Foundation is proud to partner with Niabi Zoo as they repair or replace the damaged areas from the January snowstorm. Thank you to all who have donated to this project. You have raised more than $12,000 with personal donations and $50,000 from Modern Woodman. The Modern Woodman donation will support the reconstruction of the Bald Eagle Exhibit. To those who would like to contribute, Niabi Zoo Foundation guarantees that 100% of your donation is for the recovery. The Zoo staff worked more than 35 hours nonstop to move animals, clear snow, and secure enclosures. Your donation immediately supports this recovery. We appreciate your consideration in donating toward this effort.

Niabi Zoo will open its 61st year on Tuesday, April 30, 10AM. While there is much work to do, the Zoo welcomes visitors to enjoy its 40 acres of habitats, sure to make you smile. The more than 600 animals cannot wait to see you, too! Though the zoo experience may be a little different this year, the Zoo and the Foundation are excited to get things ready for the best experience possible. Thank you for being patient as the Zoo recovers.

Established in June 2020, the Niabi Zoo Foundation has had the pleasure of working with the Zoo and the Forest Preserves to fulfill their goal of bringing a grand plan for the future of the Zoo to life, giving the community an experience worth the magic memories. The Foundation is privileged to have supported exhibits such as the White Rhino, African Painted Dogs, and Prairie Dog Town. Other support areas included Virtual Education, Spineless Wonders Graphics, Zoo Computer Server, and Aid to Ukraine Zoos. The next big goal is the Grizzly Bear. The Foundation successfully held its first Zoopocalypse 5k in October of 2023. We hope to see you this October for another run through the Zoo. Funds for this event are specific to The Grizzly Bear Exhibit.

"Working with the Niabi Zoo staff for the last four years has been incredible. Their knowledge, compassion, dedication to the animals, conservation, and education are profound. They all hold award-winning accomplishments, and their service and knowledge span the world. This inclusive education benefits Niabi Zoo and our community. Please consider meeting them someday for an inspirational experience." Krisan Steiger –— Chair/Niabi Zoo Foundation.
